Cancellation and Refund Policy

1. The membership
CareerTrends Membership is $15 per month, billed monthly in advance and renewing automatically until you cancel. The free workspace costs nothing and needs no cancellation.
Payments are handled by Stripe on Stripe-hosted pages, so we never see or store your card details. Charges appear on your card or bank statement as TENZIN CHOEDAK.
2. How to cancel
Open your account page and choose Manage billing & cancellation. That opens the Stripe billing portal, where cancellation takes effect immediately as a stop on the next renewal.
You can cancel at any time and for any reason. After cancelling, Member access continues through the end of the period you have already paid for, and the account then returns to the free workspace.
Cancelling and deleting your account are separate actions. Cancel first if a subscription is still active: deleting an account with a live subscription is refused, so that you are never charged with no account in which to see the charge.
3. The refund formula
Where a refund is due for a month already paid, the amount is calculated as:
refund = P x (R - E) / R
where P is the monthly price, R is the number of days left in that month when you cancel, and E is the number of days elapsed in it.
4. Worked example
A monthly membership at $10, cancelled 5 days into a 30-day month, refunds:
10 x (25 - 5) / 25 = $8.00
At the current $15 monthly price, the same example refunds:
15 x (25 - 5) / 25 = $12.00
This is not the same as a straight proration of the days remaining. Straight proration would refund P x R / (E + R), which in the $10 example is $8.33 and in the $15 example is $12.50. This policy refunds $8.00 and $12.00 respectively. The formula above governs.
5. How to request a refund
Write to support@careertrends.io from the email address on the account, and say which month you are asking about. Refunds are returned through Stripe to the original payment method; how quickly it appears depends on your bank.
A refund is issued when you ask for one. Cancelling on its own does not produce a refund, because access continues to the end of the period you have already paid for: the formula applies to a month you ask us to refund.
6. What is not refunded
Partial first months are handled by the same formula rather than by a full-month refund. Where the elapsed days exceed the days remaining the formula produces a negative figure, and the refund floors at zero: that month refunds nothing rather than carrying a balance either way.
7. Taxes and disputes
No sales tax is charged on the membership, so no tax is part of a refund. If that ever changes, the refund formula is applied to the price paid excluding tax, and the tax that was charged is refunded in full alongside it.
